Chemical-reduction algae management
Puroxi Ultrasonic Algae Control
Quattro DB systems transmit carefully programmed ultrasonic frequencies through the water to help manage suitable algae, cyanobacteria, biofilm and diatoms.
How the technology works
Targeting Algae Buoyancy
The system uses a large library of specific ultrasonic frequencies selected for algae and biofilm management. The objective is to interfere with the buoyancy mechanisms of susceptible algae, causing them to move out of the lighted upper water column where photosynthesis is reduced.
Final selection depends on algae identification, geometry, depth, nutrients, water movement, aquatic life, seasonality and the customer’s acceptable control level. Real-time monitoring can add temperature, conductivity, salinity, TDS, pH, ORP and other water-quality information.

How ultrasonic algae control supports the water
Continuous, Non-Invasive Algae Management

Transmission patterns
DB 360 and Globe Serve Different Geometry
Quattro DB 360
Transmits horizontally in 360 degrees across the upper water column. It is commonly suspended below a float, electrically connected to shore or its approved solar system, and independently anchored.
Quattro DB Globe
Transmits horizontally and vertically downward, supporting applications where depth and three-dimensional coverage are important.
Published maximum guidance
Coverage Varies by Target
These are maximum published guidance values for suitable Quattro DB configurations—not a promise for every water body. Geometry, algae, depth, nutrients, obstructions and water movement determine final coverage.

Power and monitoring
Shore Power, SunSonix or SolaRaft
Where shore power is available, the transducer can use its approved universal power arrangement. SunSonix is the land-based solar option. SolaRaft is the floating solar platform and can include water-quality monitoring.
The ultrasonic transducer remains an independent system. It is never mechanically connected to a Puroxi Nano Bubble Nozzle, pump or water line.

Real-time water-quality monitoring
Monitor the Water—Not Only the Equipment
Monitoring can be configured around the water body, algae risk and treatment objective. The final probe package, data interval, telemetry and alarm thresholds are selected for the project.
- Temperature and dissolved oxygen
- pH and oxidation-reduction potential
- Conductivity, salinity and total dissolved solids
- Turbidity and water clarity
- Chlorophyll and blue-green-algae indicators where appropriate
- Trend data, remote review and site-specific alarms
Customer testimonial and field experience
Lagoon Trial in Egypt
“The operation team reported that the trial controlled more than 90% of the algae without chemicals and recommended the technology for additional lagoons.”
Customer/partner-reported field experience. Final public attribution requires approved customer wording and permission. Individual results depend on site conditions.
For fish and other aquatic-life applications, Puroxi evaluates the species and food web before selection. In shrimp ponds where beneficial diatoms must be preserved, specify nano-bubble oxygenation without ultrasonic algae control.
