  • Algae/Odour: Are there algae or odour problems?
  • BOD/COD: BOD or COD levels, if known?
  • Smell: Any hydrogen sulphide smell?
  • Contaminants: Iron or manganese
  • Required ozone output: g/h (grams per hour) or water flow rate: m³/h (cubic meters per hour). We can also provide suggestions if unsure.

How an Ozone Generator Works

Ozone (O₃) is a special form of oxygen that is highly effective at cleaning and disinfecting water and air. It is created from the oxygen (O₂) that already exists in the air.

Inside an ozone generator, there are two metal electrodes separated by a small gap. Between these electrodes are special insulating plates called dielectric plates, usually made of ceramic or similar materials. These plates are very important because they control how electricity flows through the system.

When high-voltage, high-frequency electricity is applied to the electrodes, it does not produce sparks like lightning. Instead, the dielectric plates allow a safe electrical energy field to form between the electrodes. This energy field is called a corona discharge, which is a type of plasma.

As oxygen (O₂) passes through this corona field, the energy splits some of the oxygen molecules into single oxygen atoms (O). These single oxygen atoms are extremely reactive and quickly combine with normal oxygen molecules (O₂). When they combine, they form ozone (O₃).

This ozone gas is then used to disinfect and purify water or air by destroying bacteria, viruses, odours, and organic contaminants. After it reacts, ozone naturally returns to regular oxygen, leaving no harmful chemical residues behind.

Because of this process, ozone is one of the most powerful and environmentally friendly methods of purification available today.

Using Puroxi Oxygen Booster with Ozone

Puroxi Oxygen Booster is a solution based on hydrogen peroxide (H₂O₂) that can be used together with ozone to improve oxidation and water treatment performance.
