Quattro DB 360 and Globe Coverage
The Quattro DB 360 and Quattro DB Globe are selected according to the shape of the treatment area and the direction in which ultrasonic energy is intended to travel. They are not interchangeable simply because a water body is large or deep.
Quattro DB 360 — horizontal 360-degree treatment
The Quattro DB 360 transmits horizontally around the unit. It is suited to applications where the objective is to address algae in the sunlit upper water column across an open horizontal treatment zone. The transducer is suspended at its specified operating depth from an independent float, raft or approved support arrangement.
Quattro DB Globe — horizontal and downward coverage
The Globe provides a hemispherical pattern for selected deeper-water applications where downward treatment is specifically required. Puroxi reviews the biological purpose before recommending it. In water bodies containing aquatic life, the question is not simply whether fish are present; Puroxi evaluates whether downward transmission could interfere with nutrient pathways or the ecological objective.

Coverage is affected by the real water body
- Islands, peninsulas, docks, walls, bridge supports and dense structures.
- Coves, narrow channels and irregular shorelines.
- Water depth and seasonal level changes.
- Algae type and the depth at which it is active.
- Suspended material, heavy vegetation and unusual site conditions.
- Placement depth, orientation and distance between units.
Ultrasonic energy does not travel through solid obstructions. A site may therefore require additional units even when its total surface area appears to fit a nominal coverage figure.
Independent installation standard
The ultrasonic transducer remains its own system. A typical open-water installation suspends the unit from its float, connects it electrically to shore power or an approved solar platform and secures the float to a suitable concrete anchor with rope or chain. It is not physically connected to the Nano Bubble Nozzle.
Where both technologies are used, the separate nano-bubble loop consists of its pump, nozzle, gas supply, piping and discharge. The systems may be located in the same service area for practical maintenance while retaining independent mechanical and electrical arrangements.
Monitoring and deployment options
Depending on the site, deployment may use shore power, a SunSonix land-based solar arrangement or a SolaRaft floating platform. Remote monitoring can be configured around suitable sensors and site objectives. Monitoring does not replace representative sampling and physical inspection.
Knowledge check
- Which model is intended primarily for horizontal 360-degree transmission?
- Why can a narrow cove require another unit?
- Is the ultrasonic transducer connected to the Nano Bubble Nozzle?
- What additional ecological question is considered before using downward coverage?
ANSWERS
1) Quattro DB 360.
2) Solid geometry and obstructions can block the treatment path.
3) No; they are independent systems.
4) Whether downward treatment could interfere with nutrient pathways or the biological objective.
