Understanding Water Before Choosing Treatment
Water may look clear and still contain dissolved minerals, microorganisms, gases or other substances that affect people, animals, crops, equipment and treatment performance. Water that looks discoloured or cloudy also does not automatically reveal the cause of the problem.
Before selecting equipment or treatment products, Puroxi begins by understanding the complete water system: where the water comes from, how it is used, what is happening within it and what outcome must be achieved.
Clear water does not always mean suitable water
Appearance, taste and odour provide useful observations, but they cannot replace appropriate water testing. Depending on the source and application, important conditions may include bacteria, iron, manganese, hardness, suspended solids, dissolved salts, nutrients, organic material, low dissolved oxygen, unstable pH or application-specific contaminants.
The relevant parameters depend on the use. Drinking water, livestock water, irrigation water, aquaculture water, wastewater and industrial process water cannot all be evaluated in the same way.
Begin with the source and intended use
Groundwater may contain dissolved minerals and gases that become visible only after pumping or exposure to air. Surface water may change with rainfall, runoff, temperature, algae growth and seasonal turnover. Stored and recycled water can develop sediment, stagnation and biofilm. A representative sample must reflect the actual source and operating conditions.
- Identify the source, storage and distribution pathway.
- Describe who or what uses the water.
- Record normal and peak demand.
- Document seasonal changes and previous treatment.
- Identify sensitive people, animals, crops, organisms, equipment or processes.
Define the real problem and required outcome
A visible symptom is not always the underlying cause. Staining may involve iron or manganese. Odour may originate from hydrogen sulphide, organic decomposition or microbial activity. Scale may result from hardness, alkalinity, heat and pressure changes. Fish stress may involve dissolved oxygen, temperature, ammonia, nitrite, pH or several interacting conditions.
A useful objective should be measurable: improve dissolved oxygen, control a defined contaminant, reduce odour, manage algae or biofilm, protect equipment, support filtration, improve water for crops oranimals, prepare water for reuse or meet an identified operational requirement.
Chemistry and hydraulics work together
Water results alone do not determine a system. Puroxi also reviews volume, peak flow, turnover, pump curves, pipe size and length, static elevation, fittings, filtration, total dynamic head, power supply, installation conditions and monitoring capability. Appropriate equipment can still perform poorly when flow, pressure, contact time or placement is incorrect.
Different technologies perform different functions
Puroxi Nano Bubble Nozzles mix a selected gas with pressurized water. Oxygen, ozone, carbon dioxide, nitrogen or ambient air may be supplied through the gas ports when appropriate. Hydrogen-peroxide- based liquids are introduced separately by a metering or peristaltic pump upstream of the treatment process; they are not connected to the nozzle gas ports.

Verify performance after installation
Establish baseline conditions and compare them with operating results. Useful monitoring may include dissolved oxygen, pH, temperature, turbidity, conductivity, oxidation-reduction potential, ammonia, nitrite, nitrate, algae observations, flow, pressure, dosage, energy use, equipment condition, repeat photographs and laboratory analysis.
