Marine biofouling management
Sea-Chest Ultrasonic Treatment
Ultrasonic equipment can be arranged around sea chests and seawater intakes to help manage biofilm, algae and selected marine fouling pressures.
Product overview
Protect the Seawater Cooling Path
Sea chests supply seawater to cooling pumps, heat exchangers, ballast, firefighting and other vessel systems. Biofilm, algae, mussels and other marine organisms can restrict screens and piping, increase maintenance and reduce heat-transfer performance.
Puroxi evaluates the high and low sea chests, internal geometry, materials, existing anodes, operating profile and historical cleaning records before proposing transducer number and placement.

Applications
Where This Product Family May Be Used
Information required
Selection Begins With the Water and the Site
- Vessel drawings and sea-chest dimensions
- High/low chest operating practice
- Materials and coating system
- Historical photographs and cleaning records
- Cooling pressure and temperature trends
- Classification, electrical and installation requirements
Responsible recommendation
Puroxi reviews water chemistry, hydraulics, materials, operating conditions, maintenance and the customer’s verification method before final selection.
Important: Marine installation requires vessel-specific engineering, electrical approval and compatibility review. Results must be documented against an agreed baseline.
