Scale Formation Biofouling and Heat Transfer
What the evidence says
Hardness is primarily associated with dissolved calcium and magnesium. Deposits can form as chemistry, temperature, pressure and concentration change, but not every deposit is hardness scale. Iron, silica, corrosion products and biological material may also contribute.
Why context matters
Scale and biofilm can restrict flow, increase differential pressure, reduce heat transfer and raise cleaning or energy requirements. Existing deposits should be distinguished from new deposition.

Puroxi Descaler may support a site-specific scale-management program, while cleaning, filtration, chemistry control or disinfection may still be required. Performance should be compared with a documented baseline.
Site verification
- Test hardness, alkalinity, pH, conductivity/TDS and suspected deposit constituents.
- Document temperatures, pressure drop, flow, cycles of concentration and cleaning history.
- Where practical, analyze a representative deposit.
- Track differential pressure, heat-transfer performance, energy and maintenance after installation.
